Lumi Creator Benefit Corporation ("Lumi," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates a creator collaboration platform that may include a website, mobile application, messaging tools, creator profiles, community feeds, project workspaces, collaboration requests, notifications, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how Lumi collects, uses, discloses, stores, and otherwise processes personal information when individuals access or use the Services, communicate with Lumi, or interact with Lumi online (collectively, "Users," "you"). For purposes of these Terms, Lumi and each User are individually a "Party" and collectively the "Parties."

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Lumi website, mobile application, creator onboarding flows, customer support interactions, and related online services. It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, tools, or services that Lumi does not control, even if they are linked from the Services.

Geographic Scope of Services

Lumi currently offers the Services to users located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. This Privacy Policy describes how Lumi handles personal information in connection with use of the Services in those countries. If Lumi later makes the Services available in additional countries, Lumi may update this Privacy Policy or provide supplemental notices as required by applicable law.

Certain regions, platforms, or features (such as mobile app stores or sign-up flows in specific jurisdictions) may include supplemental privacy notices or disclosures presented at the point of data collection. If any supplemental terms conflict with this Privacy Policy, the supplemental terms may control for the relevant region or feature to the extent required by applicable law.

Information Lumi Collects

Lumi may collect the following categories of personal information, depending on how a person uses the Services:

Identifiers and contact data: name, email address, username or handle, phone number if provided, and other account or contact details.
Account and profile data: profile photo, bio, creative disciplines, skills, portfolio links, collaboration preferences, location, and "Open to Collaborate On" information.
User content and communications: messages, project discussions, project invitations, posts, collaboration requests, endorsements, support requests, and other content submitted through the Services.
Activity and usage data: account activity, creator interactions, feed activity, matches, follows, connection activity, project milestones, unread tracking, and other engagement signals generated through use of the Services.
Device and technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser or app information, operating system, crash logs, approximate location derived from technical data, and similar diagnostics or analytics information.
Notification and communication preferences: preferences relating to in-app, email, or push notifications.
Sensitive personal information: Lumi does not intend to collect or use sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health information, or information about racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation) beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the Services. For example, if Lumi introduces paid features or compensation tools, Lumi may collect limited tax or payout‑related information directly or through payment providers. Where applicable law treats certain information as sensitive, Lumi may provide additional notices or obtain consent where required and may use such information only for the purposes described in those notices.
Payment and transaction data: if Lumi later introduces paid features, subscriptions, escrow, payouts, or compensation tools, Lumi may collect billing, transaction, tax, or payout-related information directly or through payment providers.

Sources of Information

Lumi may collect personal information directly from users, automatically through use of the Services, from other users who interact with a person through the platform, and from service providers or third-party integrations the user chooses to connect. For example, profile information may come from creator onboarding, messaging data may arise from in-app communications, and technical data may be collected through app or website logs, cookies, SDKs, or analytics tools.

How Lumi Uses Information

Lumi may use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

To provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Services.
To create and manage accounts, profiles, matches, collaborations, messages, and project workspaces.
To recommend collaborators, rank discovery results, surface collaboration opportunities, and support trust and safety features based on signals such as discipline, mutual collaborators, geography, creator activity, and collaboration history.
To send service-related communications, including confirmations, updates, support messages, security notices, legal notices, and notification alerts by in-app message, email, or push notification.
To monitor usage, analyze trends, troubleshoot issues, protect against fraud or abuse, and maintain the security and integrity of the Services.
To enforce terms, policies, and community standards, and to investigate suspected violations.
To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, resolve disputes, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Lumi, users, and others.
To develop future features, including trust systems, compensation features, or marketplace-related tools, subject to this Privacy Policy and any additional notices required by law.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Lumi may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, log files, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, measure engagement, analyze traffic, improve performance, and support security and diagnostics. If Lumi uses analytics, advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, precise geolocation, or other tracking that requires consent or opt-out rights under applicable law, Lumi should provide additional notice and any required consent or choice mechanisms at or before collection.

As of the Last Updated date, Lumi uses cookies and similar technologies primarily for service delivery, security, and analytics related to the Services, and does not use them to conduct cross‑site targeted advertising that tracks users across unaffiliated websites or apps for advertising purposes.

How Lumi Discloses Information

Lumi may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

To other users: profile information, collaboration requests, project activity, endorsements, mutual collaborator visibility, or other content may be visible to other users depending on the feature design and user settings.
To service providers: hosting providers, analytics providers, cloud storage vendors, customer support tools, email delivery providers, push notification providers, security vendors, and payment processors may process information on Lumi's behalf.
For legal and safety reasons: Lumi may disclose information to courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other third parties when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Services.
In a business transaction: personal information may be disclosed in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, asset sale, bankruptcy, or similar corporate event.
With consent or at the user's direction: Lumi may share information when a user instructs Lumi to do so or otherwise consents.

As of the Last Updated date, Lumi does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms may be defined under certain state privacy laws. If Lumi later engages in activities that qualify as "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising, Lumi may update this Privacy Policy or provide supplemental notices as required by applicable law and may offer users additional choices or opt-out mechanisms consistent with such laws.

Data Retention

Lumi may retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain account records, support projects and communications, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Services. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the nature of the relationship, legal requirements, security needs, and whether an account has been deactivated or deleted.

As an illustration, Lumi may retain account and profile records for the life of an account and for a reasonable period after account deactivation to support collaboration continuity, safety, and dispute resolution. Message logs, project workspaces, and safety-related records may be retained longer where necessary to enforce community standards, prevent abuse, or comply with legal or regulatory obligations. Backup and archival systems may store deleted content for a limited time before it is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

Account Deletion and Community Continuity

When a user deletes a Lumi account, Lumi removes active identity and credentials so that the user can no longer sign in or use the Services. The user's profile is marked as deleted and Lumi removes personal identifiers such as display name, handle, email address, avatar, and other profile details.

To maintain the integrity and continuity of discussions and collaborations, Lumi may use a Reddit‑style "ghosting" model. Contributions a user made to threads, projects, messages, and other shared spaces generally remain in place, but their authorship is disassociated from the user's personal identity and attributed to a shared tombstone profile. In the Services interface, this appears under a single canonical label, for example "deleted," rather than the user's former name or handle.

Deletion and Erasure Requests

Users may request deletion of a Lumi account at any time from within the product or by contacting Lumi using the details provided in the Contact Information section. When a deletion request is processed, Lumi may disable the account, remove or anonymize profile‑level identifiers, and stop using the user's personal information for active service delivery, subject to applicable retention, security, and dispute‑resolution needs.

User Rights and Choices

Depending on a user's jurisdiction, users may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of personal information, portability of certain data, or information about categories of collection, use, disclosure, sale, or sharing. Users may also have the right to appeal certain privacy decisions, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, opt out of certain marketing communications, and opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, profiling, or sensitive-data processing where required by law.

Users may exercise applicable privacy rights by using any in-product tools Lumi makes available, by contacting Lumi using the details provided in the Contact Information section, or by any additional method described in the Services. Before responding to certain requests, Lumi may take steps to verify the requester's identity, which may include asking the requester to sign in, confirm contact information associated with the account, or provide limited additional information that Lumi already maintains.

Where permitted by law, users may authorize another person or entity to submit a request on their behalf, and Lumi may require proof of such authorization as well as identity verification for the underlying user. If Lumi denies a request in whole or in part, users may have the right to appeal that decision, and Lumi may explain how to submit an appeal and how the appeal will be handled.

Where nondiscrimination protections apply, Lumi may not discriminate against users for exercising their privacy rights. Certain features may not function if key information is not provided or is deleted, but Lumi may not deny Services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality solely because a user exercised a privacy right, except where differences are reasonably related to the value of the data to the Services or permitted by law.

Do Not Track and Similar Signals

Some privacy laws expect website operators to explain how they respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals or similar technologies. As of the Last Updated date, Lumi does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Where Lumi is required by law to recognize specific opt-out preference signals for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, Lumi may implement support for those signals for users in relevant jurisdictions and may describe such practices in updated notices.

Data Security

Lumi may use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No security measure is perfect, and Lumi cannot guarantee absolute security of personal information or communications transmitted through the internet or mobile networks.

Children's Privacy

Lumi is intended for adults and indicates an 18+ audience in the current placeholder materials. Lumi is not directed to children under 13, and if Lumi learns it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, Lumi should delete that information as required by applicable law.

International and Cross-Border Processing

If Lumi stores or processes information in the United States or other countries, users' personal information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than the laws of their home jurisdiction. If applicable, Lumi may provide additional disclosures or describe additional safeguards relating to cross-border transfers as required by law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Lumi may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and updated versions should include a revised "Last Updated" date. If changes are material, Lumi should provide additional notice through the Services or by other appropriate means as required by law.
